Location

La Maconnais is a pretty stone farmhouse with three bedrooms, a large comfortable lounge and kitchen diner, all tastefully restored to a high standard. With an outdoor, above ground plunge pool.

It is situated in a small hamlet in a country setting close to the village of St Etienne en cogles and St Brice en cogles where you will find shops, restaurants, bars and a large supermarket approx 3 kms.

Accommodation

Ground floor: A large comfortable lounge with log burning fireplace, two sofas one of which is a bed settee, armchairs, satellite TV, DVD player and CD stereo.

Light and airy kitchen/dining room with all mod cons inc gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and coffee maker. Everything you need for a self catering holiday. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Staircase with child gate both top and bottom.

Upstairs: Bedroom one good sized double bedroom with exposed oak beams with double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets and electric wall heater.

Bedroom two another good sized double room with exposed oak beams with wardrobe, chest of drawers and bed side cabinets and electric wall heater.

Bedroom three twin bedded with exposed beams, hanging space and chest of drawers and electric wall heater.

Bathroom with cubicle shower, full sized bath and wash basin and wall mounted over head heater.

Separate w/c with wash basin.

Garden

The garden is situated to the front of the house enclosed by a fence. It has a patio area with table and chairs and a BBQ for alfresco dining.

There is also an above ground plunge pool of approx 4 mtr dia for cooling down on hot afternoons.

Ample parking for 2-3 cars.

Out & About

The historical city of fougeres with its large chateau, many shops, restaurants, supermarkets and Saturday market is only a 15 minute drive away.

Rennes the capital of Brittany with its cosmopolitan and historic city centre is only a 35 minute drive away.

Other places of interest within easy reach are Dol de Britagne with its cathedral shops and restaurants.

Le Mont St Michel a monestary perched on the top of an island. This is the second most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower, well worth a visit.

The forest of Villecartier near Antrain with its boating lake, pony rides, cycle hire and treetop assault course.

Trout fishing lake in St James guaranteed to catch a trout for the Barbie.

Nearest beach is approx 40 minutes away. If you love sea food don’t miss a visit to the fishing port of Cancale with its seafront restaurants.
