Description

La Peignardiere lies almost at the end of a small dead-end country lane and faces towards the nearby forest of Fougeres. Once through the fivebar gate the visitor could be forgiven for thinking they had stepped back in time. The walls of the house are covered by various plants such as Virginia Creeper, Ivy, Honeysuckle, and Pyracantha. During the spring, summer and autumn months the gardens are awash with constant colour as the seasons change. This is the pleasure that is La Peignardiere - a perfect rural retreat. The garden is about half an acre and our field for the children to play in is about one acre and has swings etc in-place for their use.

Location

Situated just over 1km from the village of Parigne and 8 Kms from the lovely town of Fougeres, La Peignardiere is less than one hour from some of the best beaches in northwest France and perfectly situated for exploration of the surrounding area and nearby places of interest, such as Le Mont St Michel, Cancal, St Malo, Dinan and our local town of Fougeres itself, which has been described by our visitors as possibly the best looked after town in this region, with its quaint 'old town' nestling beneath the protective walls of one of the best preserved chateaux in northern France. Being as it is, only a few miles from Normandy in one direction and Mayenne in another, La Peignardiere's position is ideal for visits to other areas as well. Nearer to the house, but still less than 1 Km away, is the large forest of Fougeres. Which is still the home to Deer, Squirrels, and a large assortment of bird life, a great place to go walking or riding a bike. In the forest there is a lake that is ideal for children as it has its own sandy beach, general open areas for games etc climbing frames and the lake, which being as it is fed by natural streams, is clean and safe for swimming. It is also clearly marked out to show depth, so children can always be seen to be safe. Around the lake there is an obstacle course suitable for both children & adults alike, and next to the lake entrance there are riding stables where it is possible to spend time on the horses. Apart from the riding stables everything is free.

Accommodation

La Peignardiere comprises of two separate, fully self-contained cottages. One sleeps up to 6 (4+2) and the other sleeps up to 8 (6+2). In each house there is a large comfortable bed settee in the lounge hence +2. Set in a beautiful rural location it also has central heating and is available all year.

Both of the cottages are fitted with everything necessary to enjoy a self catering holiday, including a Fridge-Freezer and a washing machine, cooker, microwave etc plus the cottages also have a broadband network internet service installed also UK Television & DVD players. These are free but activated by request as some people prefer to leave all this behind for their holiday while others still need to keep in touch with home or office. All our visitors need to bring is themselves; we will even supply the linen if required. The property is completely enclosed by a fence so children can play anywhere they wish without parents worrying.
