All bed linen, tea towels and toilet rolls supplied at commencement of booking are at no extra cost. The cost also includes all electricity, water and gas. Cots and highchairs are also available at no extra cost, but please ensure that you request these at time of booking.

The Cottage sleeps up to 9 people, and the Studio sleeps 2 people. 

Location

As you approach the cottage at La Pillerie, the first you see of this very old property is the original bread oven at the side of the road, which has been retained. La Pillerie is located in the Western Loire region of France and consists of The Cottage and The Studio. Located at the end of the village of Erce en Lamee in its own vast grounds.

From either property you can gain access to the newly installed pool and the many activities that are located locally including fishing at the river the flows through the edge of the grounds (a permit is required - please contact us for details).

The Cottage has recently been redecorated to offer superb accommodation for your stay. The rounded doorway was originally built to allow the barrels containing the cider made on site to be moved through the doorway, hence the 'barrel' shape.

Accommodation

The Cottage has sleeps up to 9 in 3 upstairs bedrooms. Bedroom one has a double and single bed (suitable for couple with young child). Bedroom two has twin beds. Bedroom three has bunk beds suitable for children (travel cot available). Located on this floor is a family bathroom with fitted cubicle shower, washbasin and wc.

Downstairs has a large lounge with large glass fronted log burner, television with DVD player. A leather three piece suite and a double futon which can be used as a double bed for another 2 guests. The room also has the original exposed ceiling beams.

The very large kitchen/diner has a family size cooker, 2 fridges, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, dining table with chairs (Highchair available). There is also a downstairs wet room with shower, washbasin and WC.

The Studio Apartment sleeps 2 and is located next the Cottage but has its own private patio area with outside table and chairs with easy access to the swimming pool. Parking is at the front of the property.

It has an open plan design, which has undergone complete refurbishment. At one end is located the sleeping area, with double bed and wardrobe. The kitchen/dining area has a fitted electric hotplate, microwave/grill, fridge, sink unit, storage cupboards, table and chairs.

Local amenities

Erce en Lamee is situated about 10 mins drive from Chateaubriant. Here you will find the local bar tabac, bakers shop, post office, local church and a small supermarket. You can bike along the old railway line from Erce to Chateaubriant! Just a few minutes drive away and you will find Teillay. Be sure when visiting this village to look at the various shop signs hanging at first floor level! They all depict what the trade is all about. You will find a bar restaurant, bar tabac, the Mairie (visit for information on the area), garage etc. There are also Lakes to walk around or again to fish (obtain your licence from the bar tabac).

Another small town a short drive from La Pillerie is Bain de Bretagne. You will find many restaurants to suit every taste, shops, boating lake, in fact you could spend many an hour just browsing all that is on offer. They hold a street market on Monday mornings. Take a visit to Guerche de Bretagne and see their market on Tuesday mornings. Golf, 9 holes, can be found at Treffieux (RN 171), while swing golf, 18 holes, can be found in Rouge.
