Description

Situated within a country estate, Les bouffetieres provides an ideal venue, whether you fish or are just looking for an idyllic location to kickback and relax; The lakeside Cottage, formally owned by the Baron de Roince has been beautifully restored and tastefully furnished adding to the character and ambience of this historic property.

For those hot summer days, you can cool off in the splash pool or take a woodland walk where you may stumble upon the deer which roam freely, spot rare birds and other wildlife or there is Matin and Princess, our residential donkeys who just loved to be fussed over and also enjoy a carrot or two!

Les Bouffetieres must be one of the finest fisheries in the Pays de la Loire region. The 1½acre lake could not be classed as a "big carp-fishery" but has been purposely designed to be an all round, well-balanced fishing water suitable for beginners, families and expert anglers alike.

The lake sits just feet away from the Cottage and has uniterrupted views of the neighbouring park and forest. There are many fishing lakes in France, but very few can compare with the quality of fishing available at Les Bouffetieres. The lake boasts carp over 45lbs including Commons, Mirrors and fully-scaled too. As well as a plethora of Coarse fish such as specimen Tench, Perch and Roach, the lake is complimented by a well managed stock of Pike, double-figured Zander and Stergeon upto 20lbs.

Accommodation

This historic Hunter's Cottage, which sleeps 5 +baby/child, was formally owned by Baron de Roince and has recently been beautifully restored.
Inside, the spacious lounge has enormous oak beams and a very impressive stone fireplace with the original coat of arms.
The fully equipped kitchen and dining room is of open plan design with french doors opening out to views of the lake and donkey paddock.
The bathroom is located downstairs and offers a bath, seperate shower, washbasin and toilet.
Upstairs there is a spacious hallway with exposed beams and original stonework.
In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is a washroom comprising of a toilet and washbasin.
The first bedroom is a double room, with wardrobe and drawers.
The second bedroom has 2 single beds. There is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. All bed linen is provided.
All the upstairs rooms have uninterrupted views of the beautiful French countryside.
For your entertainment, there is satellite television, an assortment of DVDs, books and games.
The whole property has been restored to maintain its orginal charm and tastefully furnished further adding to the character and ambience of this historic property.
Outside there is a barbeque area with table, chairs & umbrella. For those hot days a splash pool to cool off in with uninterrupted views of the lake and beautiful French countryside,

Location

Les Bouffetieres is situated 20 mins from the historic town of Laval, listed as an 'Art and History' town, Laval has a Middle Ages feel.
Laval has a number of Museums, busy boutiques and a variety of restaurants, cafes as well as traditional markets & during the summer months numerous concerts & attractions.
The Chateau at Laval over looks the river Mayenne where you can hire a boat, cast off and take your very own cruise. Guided tours are also available by boat, on foot or by the mini train, all which are organised by the local Tourist Office.
Other places of interest are the Chateau at Craon and its gardens, La Roe Abbey or for a slice of culture the Robert Tatin museum at Coss�-le-Vivien.
The beautiful long sandy beach of St Malo is just a 1½ hour drive away from Les Les Bouffetieres and makes a perfect day out.
Mont St. Michel is 90 minutes away and being in the Bretagne region, naturally has clean, sandy beaches - not to mention a whole host of seafood restaurants.
There are also 2 golf courses both situated within 30 minutes from Les Les Bouffetieres.
