rate. Bed linen and towels are not normally provided but, in exceptional
circumstances - for the cottage only, can be arranged for an additional

Location
Saint-Siméon is about ten miles south-west of
Domfront, on the southern Normandy/Mayenne border, about 1½
hours drive south of Caen (see map). Charming barn conversions with
lovely views to surrounding wooded hills and orchards, La Bucherie
is situated at the end of a lane, half a mile from the village. So,
it's an easy walk to the boulangerie and the café. The market
town of Gorron is only six miles away, with a good supermarket, shops
and swimming pool. La Bucherie is ideal for peaceful family holidays
and exploring this interesting and varied part of France, which is
renowned for its history, wonderful food and, of course, the cider
and calvados.
Accommodation and Facilities
The farmhouse house sleeps 11+ and is available in the
summer only. Ideal for two families to share. There are four bedrooms,
two doubles with en-suite facilities, and two further bedrooms and
a third bathroom. Downstairs, there is a large sitting room (oak beams
and tiled floor with comfy sofas) opening onto the terrace. The kitchen
is fully equipped, with dishwasher, gas cooker, fridge, pots and pans
etc. The large table seats 10 comfortably. There is also a washing
machine.
The cottage sleeps 5. It has an open-plan living / dining
room: a cool retreat in the summer and cosy in the winter. It also
has french-windows, comfortable sofas, a wood burner, a tiled floor
and oak beams. There are two bedrooms, a shower room and a kitchen
area. A washing machine is available. Special rates for long term
lets.
There are separate gardens for each property, with garden
furniture and barbecues.
Both properties could be booked together for a larger

Local Activities and Attractions
Windsurfing, equestrian, walking, swimming, golf, fishing,
micro-lighting, chateaux, museums. Within easy reach, one can find
Mont Saint-Michel, the invasion beaches, Bayeux (tapestry) and the
Suisse-Normande. Or, alternatively, just relax in the garden with
a glass of wine!
During
July-&-August there is a swimming / splash pool for the use of
our guests.
